Boards rubbed; small chips to front board, bumped to lower edge of rear board. Front hinge cracking at dedication page. Inscription in red ink on dedication page referring to Jonathan Sewell, p. 141; note and underlines on footnote of p. 141. Pencil notes on p. 99 in top and bottom margins; pencil calculations at bottom of p. 109; D.H.W. initials in pencil at bottom of p. 163. A letter to Miss [Maganes?] from D. H.
