New York: Jonathan Cape and Harrison Smith Incorporated, 1930. 1st edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. VG (no dw). 8vo, 256pp (printed one-side), printed boards, lacking dustwrapper. The magnificent first edition of the second of Lynd Ward's six wordless novels, which incorporate German Expressionist techniques and have had a lasting influence on the development of the graphic novel. Unmarked copy, light bookplate residue to front free endpaper, a bit of general reading wear.
