Hand-embroidered items: rain, flowers and grass. Machine and hand-stitched. Lise Melhorn-Boe: "Hazel Hall's poem 'Two Sewing' animates this flag book. The lovely text refers to the wind as an embroiderer and the rain as needles, so Hedi Kyle's flag book seemed like an excellent structure to give the feeling of a landscape opening out."

Witney: The Strawberry Press, 2007. First edition. Hardcover. New copy. Imperial octavo. Pp. 40. Illustrated: 12 plates. Slip-case. Number 49 of 150 copies printed by Paul W. Nash on Zerkall mould-made paper. The drawings were printed by J. W. Northend Ltd. of Sheffield. An additional ten copies on hand-made paper, specially bound in red morocco and preserved in a clam-shell box were also issued (details on these from the bookseller). Lord Carlow wrote this essay in 1938 for a book he meant to publish at his Corvinus Press, but the book was never completed because the plates and the printed sheets were destroyed by enemy action in May 1941. Only one copy survived, that belonging to Lord Carlow himself. Paul W. Nash is the author of a detailed study and bibliography on the Corvinus Press (Scholar Press. Aldershot: 1994), and his efforts to bring this book into print are commendable. A most beautiful production in every respect!

Waukesha, Wisconsin:: Citron Press,, 2013.. Edition of 50. 6 x 4.7"; 30 pages. Double-sided accordion printed with solar plates and letterpress. Paper-covered boards. Signed and numbered by the artist. The artist created her own A to Z set of animals. The story goes that after a flood in Waukesha the animals of the A Through Z Pet Emporium escaped their cages and fled to the upper floors. After the waters receded and the animals returned to their "homes," thirteen babies were found. Curiosities of nature had been born: a Bassadillo (armadillo + basset hound); a Herrhound (greyhound + heron); a Narth (moth + narwhal), etc. We always knew that mixing it up was fun, but this is wonderfully outrageous.

Austin: Texas Writers Project, 2000. Original . Broadside. FINE. 24 x 36 inches, printed on high quality coated stock with metalic ink. Shipped- rolled in heavy tube. This fabulous poster was created especially for the featured author of Texas Writers Month in 2000 held in Austin, Texas by graphic designer Marc English. It is printed on heavy high quality coated stock in metalic inks: silver and bronze and laid over a duotone photograph of the rugged Big Bend country of West Texas. The poster quotes a long scene from McCarthy's BLOOD MERIDIAN with drops of bronze red blood for emphasis. This is a stunning visual and carries the impact of the original text depicting a scene of horror as the savages line up on horseback along the ridge their glass beads and painted bodies caught forever in the sun's hot glare as they anticipate the massacre that would follow. Only McCarthy could make this scene so vivid you might have to put the book down and never finish it.
