Black and white illustrated portrait of Jane Austen to frontispiece. Introduction by G B Stern. Grey patterned endpapers and pastedowns. Pages remain bright and clear with mild tanning to edges. Binding remains firm. Previous owner's inscription in pen to front endpaper. Boards have minimal shelf wear with minor bumping to corners. Mild tanning to spine. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Faint white marks to rear with faint water marks near to spine rear joint.
Synopsis
Mansfield Park is a novel by Jane Austen, written at Chawton Cottage between 1812 and 1814. It was published in July 1814 by Thomas Egerton, who published Jane Austen's two earlier novels, Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice. When the novel reached a second edition, its publication was taken over by John Murray, who also published its successor, Emma.
