About This Item
New Zealand Department of Tourist and Health Resorts, 1902. Colorful chromolithographic full back postcard, franked Wellington 28 February 1903. A smiling young Maori woman at the right holding a pendant necklace; in the background more Maoris stand at the entrance to the kainga (pre-European Maori settlement) and a lake and mountains in the far distance. Elaborate Maori inspired designs by G.N. Sturtevant decorate the full back. St. bumped & marked, overall very good. 3 1/2 x 5 1/4", addressed to England, with a one penny New Zealand stamp, canceled.
