Mattapoisett, MA: Busyhaus Publications, 1983. Very good + condition. This is an engraving by Michael McCurdy from the book 'American Decorative Papermakers: The Work & Specimens of Twelve Craft Artists'. The print depicts artists at work in the studio producing marbled paper: an artist at the lower left drags feathers across a piece of paper. Printed title below image. Signed in pencil by the artist at the right.
McCurdy (1942 - 2016) was a noted American author and illustrator, recognized for his trademark b&w woodblock engravings. He was also the founder of Penmaen Press in Boston.
A fine copy handsomely mounted for presentation in a large maroon mat by a New York literary agent, with printed title on verso. 7 1/2 x 5 3/4", mat 16 x 20"
