New York: Harper & Brothers, 1849. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. First American edition, first printing. Two volumes bound in publisher's plum cloth, decorated in blind with titles in gilt on spines; yellow coated endsheets. Very Good with fading to spine and wear at spine ends and lighter so to corners. Endsheets offset or browned at centers; Previous owner name to front free endpapers of both volumes, and to rear endpaper of Volume II. A rather lovely set of Melville's third book, housed in a custom folding case.
