Signed by Wilson at the bottom right corner of the photograph. The Phoenix Bookshop was a renowned New York bookshop and a centre of literary activity particularly for the Beat poets and the writers of the Black Mountain School. Robert A. Wilson was the third proprietor of the Phoenix and was a renowned author and bibliographer. He corresponded regularly with Moore during the 1950's through to the year of her death in 1972.
