Pp xi, 443 with a frontispiece plate and 11 further plates giving a total of 14 b/w photo illustrations, plus a multi-folding map and a multi-folding leaf "The Scheme of John's Dee's Mathematical Preface". Spine lightly sunned, otherwise very good, in the original cloth-covered boards/gilt-on-black spine title. The uncommon First Edition, this with the splendid heraldic bookplate of the maritime Author, William Cuthbert Brian Tunstall to the front pastedown.. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good/no d/w. 8vo.
