Light blue cloth over boards, front cover stamped with brown and off-white pictorial design and letters; spine with small gilt panel and brown and off-white design, letters; tissue-guarded frontispiece. Lightly scuffed covers are clean but for few light stains near front cover fore edge; tightly bound; light foxing on end papers; clean interior. This is part of publishers "Mayflower Series for Girls" that came out in the mid 1890s with their "Pilgrim Series for Boys". Christian morality story. Spelled 'May Coverly' on spine and on advert page; ' May Coverley' on half title and title page. 12mo, 258 pp.
