From the estate of Andrew J. Offutt, with his brief editorial "corrections" on several of Pichard's illustrations, and a square slip noting television shows, in holograph ink and whiteout. Pichard was a French comics artist noted for his work in the 1960s and 1970s, illustrating women in various stages of bondage, flagellation, intricate apparatuses, role-playing. Here, his trademark gothic look decorates a tale of royal infidelity, capture and torment of Melanie, set in early 1900s unnamed town in central Europe, prefaced by a Jean Giono quote.Offutt was an avid science fiction author noted for "Conan"-themed fantasies, and wrote 100s of erotic novels under pseudonyms John Cleve, Turk Winter, John Denis, Opal Andrews, etc.; Winter was a name attached to his more violent novels, including the "Blunder Broad" comics series he produced with Eric Stanton, akin to the bondage themes of Pichard.
