Alfred A. Knopf, 1969. Limited Numbered First Edition. Cloth. Fine/Near Fine in Slipcase. A lovely Limited Numbered First Edition signed by the author. Numbered 181 of 350. In fine beige buckram, the book is clean and bright with fine gold endpapers. 99 pp. In a bright patterned gold dustjacket with possible light fading on the spine. The brown slipcase is also in Near Fine condition, very solid and complete, with only two light touches of gum residue from two removed stickers. A lovely set.
Synopsis
John Updike was born in 1932 in Shillington, Pennsylvania; he attended Harvard College and the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Arts in Oxford, England. From 1955 to 1957 he was a staff member of The New Yorker , to which he has contributed stories, essays, and poems. He is the author of five novels and lives with his wife and four children in Ipswich, Massachusetts.
