New York: G. Lane & P.P. Sandford, 1842. Hardcover. Good. Published by G. Lane & P.P. Sandford, for the Sunday School Union of the Methodist Episcopal Church, at the Conference Office, 200 Mulberry-Street. J. Collord, printer. 42, 36, 16 p.: illustrations; 11 cm. Contemporary red leather spine and corners with marbled paper over boards. Five spine compartments between gilt rules with gilt-tooled title, Child's Library, in second compartment and number, 4, in fourth. Three titles bound together: Miracles of Our Blessed Saviour -- The Orange Grove by Mary Martha Sherwood -- The Storm and the Rainbow by Charlotte Elizabeth, and Daniel P. Kidder. The third publication has no title page, but the running title is "The Rainbow." Lane and Scott, successors to Lane and Sandford, published The Storm and the Rainbow by Charlotte Elizabeth, and Daniel P. Kidder around 1848. Inscribed on the front free endpaper: "Geo: C. Morton Mar. 30th 1846 from his S.S. Teacher." Each of these individually is very scarce. In Good Condition: rubbed, with significant loss of leather on spine and upper corners; joints are separating, but stitching is solid; faint dampstain from lower edges; pages of Miracles are browning; occasional foxing and soiling; no writing other than gift inscription.
