Signed in front by a very famous Wellington, New Zealand architect (1824 - 1907) - " Thomas Turnbull ARIBA, Architect, Wellington" Full of amazing engravings - mainly architectural and ornament. three quarter leather binding. 5 raised band s to spine Gilt lines , gilt titles to spine. Marbled end papers. All text in French. 72 plates -about 10 fold out to almost triple size. 215 pages of text. Some foxing to first few text pages on lesser quality paper. and on some blank end paper One double plate (53-54) badly foxed. Some minor foxing spots to the edges of some plates. Some shelf wear, stains to cloth on covers. Plates are single sided so ideal to frame if your wanted to. With attention to major projects like the Louvre by Visconti, the Bois de Boulogne.... The Moniteur des Architectes was the second most important architectural periodical in France in the 19th century (Daly's Revue générale d'architecture, founded in 1842, being the first). It ran until 1900. .
