London: Macmillan, 1980. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. First UK Edition. INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR TO FAMILY MEMBERS. A near fine copy (spine tips a little pushed) in like D/W with just a hint of creasing at the head and tail of the spine but with no fading whatsoever. A nice copy. Inscribed by the Author on the title page to family members: "To Jessie and Joe/ with love,/ from/ Mary./ 'Ellis Peters', Sept. 1980". Jessie Hodgson (nee Edward) was Ellis Peters' first cousin. Ellis Peters' real name was Edith Mary Pargeter. Family members called her "Edith Mary" or "Mary" as her mother was also called Edith. A superb Association Copy.
