About This Item
No dust jacket. Black fabric cover shows wear at all the corners, but the board is showing through only at a tiny spot on the right rear upper corner. Gilt print on the pine still shines. Owner's name and information inside the front cover. The deckle-edged pages are clean, tight and unmarked. The binding appears solid. A story of a seven-year-old street urchin (a mudlark) and Queen Victoria. Rather rare.
This book was made into a movie in 1950 starring Irene Dunne and Alec Guinness. It is considered the best known of Bonnet's 21 books.
