Octavo (21.5cm); black cloth, with titles stamped in white and metallic green on spine; gray topstain; [vi],250pp. Inscribed by the author to Broadway star Sondra lee on the front endpaper: "For Sondra and Harlan - with love from Ned / Thanksgiving 1968." Spine ends gently nudged, else Fine in a Very Good+ dustjacket, unclipped (priced $5.95), with some light shelfwear overall, a few short tears along upper edge, with a diagonal crease to front flap. Collection of criticism and personal asides by the Pulitzer Prize-winning composer. A warm association copy to a long-time friend and collaborator.
