First edition, first state printing (w/ error on p.46: the poem cited has opening quotation marks at second line, instead of first), 1966. Signed by the author on the title page. Book near fine, with slight wear at corners, a few discoloration spots on fore-edge of pages. DJ near fine, except for rubbing spot on back flap which has erased the word "John" from "John Updike was born.et cetera," tiny .5" tear at top of back, slight darkening on spine and along topmost edges of flaps, slight staining on back. DJ price reads "$4.95." In specially made slipcase. We will provide a certificate of authenticity for this item.
