About This Item
Pendulum Books, 1967. Very Good. Vintage adult paperbacks, explicit, lurid Victorian fiction. Pendulum, noted for its employ of cult writer/director Ed Wood Jr., rivaled Greenleaf and Bee-Line for its expansiveness, if anything, as well as a lean towards Victorian, the occult, several titles featuring pornographic photos throughout. Well-documented memoir, generally attributed to Henry Spencer Ashbee. Early for the publisher, still as PND on the copyright. All Pendulum editions are rare, a full run is 11 volumes; nine volumes are present (2-3, 5-11). Very Good overall, all w/ rubbing, toning, edge foxing, a few w/ slight lean, small creases, spine creases, edge stains, 2 chip (VI, XI), 1 remainder (IX). For mature, consenting audiences. International shipping billed at cost.
Synopsis
A rare look at the hidden side of Victorian lifeFrom his precocious childhood to the end of what he calls his "amatory career," an adventurous Victorian known only as "Walter" records a breathtaking carnal epic through hundreds of sexual encounters during an era of notorious repression.
