Philadelphia: Winston, 1913. First Edition. Hard Cover. Signed by Author. (Philadelphia: The John Winston Company 1913). First US Edition. INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR TO THE WIFE OF THE DEDICATEE. Publisher's dark-green smooth cloth; front board has gold lettering and design in white enamel and blind of a doorway bearing numerals "31". Spine has white lettering. Spine tips worn, white lettering to the spine faded, marks to the back panel. Overall a good copy. Inscribed by the Author to the FFEP: "Alice Bishop/ from her friend R Austin Freeman/ April 1913". No D/W. Illustrations by Edwin J Prittie. Photographs/scans available upon request.
