Contemporary bookplate to front pastedown. 370 pages. Portrait of Napoleon's mother to frontispiece and 15 other portraits. Translated from the German by Eden and Cedar Paul. Very interesting biography with particularly fine illustrations. Includes Madame Tallien, Empress Josephine, Hortense Beauharnais, Giuseppini Grassini, Mademoiselle George, Grand, Duchess Louise of Weimar, Queen Louise of Prussia, Empress Marie Louise, Pauline Bonaparte, Countess Kielmansegg, Madame De Stael. 4. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
