London: George Virtue, 1837. First Edition . Decorative Cloth. Very Good. 1837 First edition. Complete in two volumes. Size octavo, 208 and 216 pages. Brown cloth decorated with ornate blind stamed frames to each cover, gilt titles to the spines, page edges unevenly trimmed. With two title pages to each volume, engraved title pages and printed title pages. Condition very good. The bindings have been professionally rebacked at some point with new end-papers and original spines laid down, corners and edges a little rubbed, spines and inner edges of covers a little faded, a few light spots to first and last few pages and the versos of the plates, pages slightly toned with a little offsetting here and there from the plates, but generally very clean. The plates are in nice clean condition. Very nicely executed engravings by Virtue. Three hundred splendid engravings. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
