About This Item

London: Nodder & Co.. Very Good. (1790-1813). Hardcover. 5 of the 48 plates show more pronounced degrees of offset from facing text page; several others have very faint offset, most are quite clean. There is offset from images to facing text pages, most obvious opposite the first 6 plates. Rubbing and wear to corners and edges with some wear through to boards at corner tips and front edges. Bottom and middle panel of spine leather with shadow of library labels; front pastedown shows stain and scuffing from plate removal. No other library marks or stamps; rear pastedown with a scuff and vertical 7"X3" area of tanning with offset to rear endpaper likely from library pocket. Save for the offset to some plates and facing pages, interior text pages and plates very clean. Binding tight. ; Contemporary red half-morocco, lettered & ruled in gilt and marbled paper over boards. Without title page as issued, two dedication pages, one in Latin the second in Latin. Illustrated with 48 hand colored plates showing birds, fish, insects, reptiles, etc. ; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; Unpaginated pages .
