Barrett's work includes chapters such as "The meaning of co-operation and unity, racial and interracial," "The meaning of the word Negro, and why I use it," "Some reasons why we are divided," "The influence of the Negro minister, and the Negro church in accelerating unity and co-operation among us," "Negro world unity," and "The solution of the problem of division among us." A portrait photograph of the author is printed on the page opposite the Introduction. OCLC reports only ten copies of this scarce work in institutions.
