Basis for the 1975 film scripted and directed by McGuane, and featuring Peter Fonda, Warren Oates, Burgess Meredith, Harry Dean Stanton, and Margot Kidder, whom he later married.

Synopsis

Thomas McGuane lives in Sweet Grass County, Montana. He is the author of eight previous novels and a collection of stories, as well as two collections of essays.
