It includes the first lengthy historical sketch of the progress of gardening in England. Original full brown leather with raised bands on spine. Single ruled gilt border on covers. Interior of text is tight, clean & intact. Pages with a hint of age toning and free of foxing. (viii) , (xxxiv) ,266pp +8pp of index & errata. Decorated with head and tail pieces.
