About This Item

New York, New York, U.S.A.: Harcourt, Brace & Company, 1955. First Edition Later Printing . Hardcover. Near Fine/Fair. Lindbergh, Charles. The wife of famed aviator Charles Lindbergh, & an accomplished pilot in her own right, offers this very personal travelogue of the flight the couple took through the Orient in the summer of 1931 via what was known as the "Great Circle Route." IDescirbed at the time by the Saturday Review of Literature as "a thoroughly charming book.that translates experience in terms of mood rather than fact." In 255 pages, with Appendix, photographic frontispiece, & maps throughout by the author's husband, famed aviator Charles Lindbergh. Orig. published in 1935, this is the 12th printing of that First Edition from Oct. 1936. Hardcover 8vo has blue cloth-covered boards stamped with a silver image of a plane to front & silver lettering to spine. Condition is Near Fine: extremely clean & bright, binding strong & straight, hinges secure, pages moderately tanned, heavier around edges, but completely unmarked. The unclipped DJ (with orig. $2.50 price intact to front flap) is Fair, marred by chipping & rubbing to extremities, missing 2" section from heel of spine, lesser paper loss to head of spine & all corners; protected by former owner in clear mylar cover. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive from us, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! All orders processed before 2 pm weekdays (Pacific) ship same day; later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
