London: Sangster and Fletcher. Very Good with No dust jacket as issued. 1854. 1st Edition. First Printing. Hard Cover. Rebound (20th Century) in full light brown cloth, gilt lettering on spine. Illustrated with 12 full-page illuminated color engravings and 1390 B&W engravings. Printed by William Clowes in London. This volume deals with the British Period, the Roman Period, and the Anglo-Saxon Period before the Conquest; Regal and Baronial Antiquities, Ecclesiastical and Popular Antiquities in the period from the Norman Conquest to the Death of King John (1066-1216), in the periods from the Accession of Henry III to the end of the reign of Richard II (1216-1399); and from the Accession of Henry IV to the end of the Reign of Richard III (1399-1485). . The paper is lightly toned, but supple, mildly chipped in places, never affecting text ot illustrations, all of which are clean and bright, else fine.
