First edition in English, the translation from the French not attributed.Two volumes in contemporary half red morocco over marbled boards, gilt backs, marbled end papers and edges, the the armorial bookplates of Thomas Lloyd and bookplates of the Leghorn Literary Society. LLoyd was a 19th century English merchant who lived in Leghorn and is buried there. A very Good set, gilt a spines a bit dulled, moderate spotting to end papers and few interior pages, some pages with creasing at fore edges. An uncommon biography. . First English Edition. Half Morocco. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
