Los Angeles: Paramount Pictures, 1920s. 7 1/2” x 9 1/2”. A wonderful photograph of the lovely silent film star Jobyna Ralston. Fine. Miss Ralston was one of the WAMPAS (The Western Association of Motion Picture Advertisers) Baby Stars of 1923 - an annual award given to thirteen promising young starlets which was active from 1922 to 1934 . Jobyna Ralston is best remembered for her work in Harold Lloyd comedies, replacing actress Mildred Davis who retired to become Mrs. Harold Lloyd. In 1927 she meet fellow actor Richard Arlen on the set of the Oscar-winning classic "Wings" and later married him. Some of her other films include A Racing Romeo, For Heaven’s Sake, Girl Shy, Special Delivery, The Night Flyer, Rough Waters, etc.
