Laid-in is a typed signed letter on the author's personal letterhead and dated 1986, referencing her 1985 collection of stories A Glimpse of Sion's Glory, and mentioning her current project that would become Deceits of Time (1988), the original Air Mail envelope is also included. To be clear, the book itself is not signed, the laid-in letter is. Straight, tight, and clean with no markings, slight corner and spine-end bumps. Dustjacket unclipped bearing original price, light edge nicks, rubs, short closed edge tears, in new Brodart sleeve. The popular author's first book in the Orlando Trilogy followed by Orlando at the Brazen Threshold, and Agatha. A modern classic. ISBN 9780370006529
