About This Item
Harper & Brothers. New York, London. 1913. First Edition. 281pages. The blue covers are in very good plus condition. There is minor bumping at the top/bottom of spine. The title and author are in bright cold on the front cover and spine. There is also a decorative weather vane on the front cover. The covers retain much of their original color, there are just a couple of very small spots on the covers. The binding is solid. The dust jacket is in just good condition; there is fraying and moderate toning along most of the edges. A few chips are present. The spine of the jacket is heavily sunned/toned, but the writing (author, title, original price) are still very readable. The dust jacket is now in a clear, archival removable cover. The interior of the book is in good plus condition. There is some mild foxing on the front and rear endpapers. There is a gift inscription to a previous owner (dated 1913) on the front free endpaper. In general, the pages are clean and bright with no other writing detected. There is sporadic toning of pages in places. The book includes an illustrated frontis (page with small chip at bottom) and 15 black/white illustrations that are all present and in very good condition.
