London: Swan Sonnenschein, 1906. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Good Plus. First edition. Hardback, bound in the original green cloth with gilt titling and decoration. 20 × 13.5cm, 347pp. This copy has been signed by Joseph Sinel to K G Blair. This was Kenneth Gloyne Blair (1882-1952), a British entomologist and coleopterist. A study of the natural history of the shoreline, including protozoa, porifera, coelenterata, echinodermata, vermes, polyzoa or bryozoa, crustacea, marine insecta, arachnida and myriopoda, mollusca, brachiopoda, chordata, vertebrata, fauna of the martime zone, and collecting and preserving etc. The book is illustrated throughout with photographs and drawings from slides. The author, Joseph Sinel (1844-1929) was a Jersey-born naturalist and archaeologist. He wrote and lectured on natural history, and his correspondents included Charles Darwin and Russel Alfred Wallace. Condition: This copy is in good condition for age. There is some pulling to the binding but all pages are still attached. Light bumping to the cloth binding but it remains an attractive copy in good readable condition.
