About This Item
Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Company, 1989. First edition. Hardcover. 557pp. Gray cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title on the spine and red ink stamped linear designs on the spine and boards. Very good. The covers are mildly warped, and the spine ends are lightly bumped and rubbed. There is a former owner's ink stamp on the front free endsheet. In a very good dust jacket, with general light soiling and smudging. The edges are just a little bit creased. From the dust jacket- "Although History of the Church presents some of this material, limitations in format, completeness, and accuracy underscore the need for a comprehensive edition of the Prophet's papers. This first volume of the historical and autobiographical writings of Joseph Smith marks the beginning of this project.
