Anners, no date, (1835-1851) (1851 gift inscription on fly leaf.). 8vo., 5 3/4" x 6 3/4", 372pp., frontis plus numerous wood engravings, full page and within the text, in 12 sections of 31 pages each: Wanderings of Tom Starboard; Entertaining and Instructive Stories; Stories about Insects; Stories about Balloons; Stories about Curious and Wonderful Birds; Fables; Sketches of History and Customs; Sketches of the Manners of the Jews; Tales about the People of Asia: Tales about Useful Plants; Stories about Four-Footed Animals; Stories about Fruit of Various Kinds. Blind embossed brown cloth with gilt spine titles and designs, colored endpapers. Cloth split along the front hinge fold, wear at the edges, first signature bit shaken, light, occasional foxing, inscription on fly leaf. Text clean and bright, binding strong and tight.
