Though British-born, Chamberlain wrote in German, authoring several books on political philosophy, natural science, and Richard Wagner. In early adulthood, he migrated to Dresden where he immersed himself in the study of Wagner's music and philosophy. He later moved to Austria where his ideas on race and teutonic supremacy gained form. After attending the festival at Bayrouth in 1882 he began corresponding with Wagner's widow, establishing a relationship that eventually lead to his marriage to Wagner's daughter Eva in 1905. His two-volume book, Die Grundlagen des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts, published in 1899, was a seminal work of German Nationalism with its principles of Aryan supremacy and antisemitism. Adolph Hitler and Joseph Goebbels visited Chamberlain a number of times. ; Experience the pleasure of reading and appreciating this actual printed item. It has its own physical history that imbues it with a character lacking in ephemeral electronic renderings. .
