In August 1944 the German Army was surrounded by the Allies but there was one avenue of escape - the Falaise Gap which was twenty miles wide. For nearly a week the Gap remained open and between 200,000 and 250,000 German soldiers and all their equipment retreated through it. Who was responsible for allowing the Gap to be kept open thereby prolonging the agony of World War 2. 240 pages with 23 pages of black and white photographs and 15 maps. Book in good condition ex library with sticker on first page, numbers and letters and small piece of sticky tape on last page and three letters inside back cover. Dust jacket in good condition in clear wrapper price clipped with sticker on spine and back and minor knocks ad chips (see photo).
