Three scarce Catholic devotional works by Cesare Franciotti (1557-1627), from the same Italian printer, Giovanni Battista Combi (Venice), two published 1624 and one 1619, a pocket-sized volume, 2 1/4 x 4 1/8 inches tall full leather binding (recently rebound), gilt lettering to spine, marbled endpapers, three engraved title pages, two full-page engravings of Christ on the cross, 108, 121, 248 pp. Minor rubbing to covers. Prior owner ink inscriptions to front free-endpaper, including one dated 1680. Otherwise, apart from occasional light staining or foxing, a very good copy of three scarce works. Franciotti, a priest in a holy order (I chierici regolari della Madre di Dio) in the Republic of Lucca on the central Italian peninsula, was the author of numerous works.
