About This Item
1875 1ed Pennsylvania Railroad American Revolution INDIANS Illustrated MAPS
'The Pennsylvania Railroad' is an early history of the Pennsylvania Railroad as it was in the 1870s shortly after the first common carrier railroad was built in 1829. This book gives a history of the cities along the route paying special attention to the American Revolution and wars with Indians, and briefly mentioning the Civil War.
This 1875 first edition includes numerous illustrations and engravings of railcars, scenic views, stations, early city and rural scenes along the routes, mileage between cities and junctions, and two maps showing the route extending from New York as far as Erie, and Allegheny, Pennsylvania.
