Publisher's full black cloth, gilt lettering on blue label on spine, maps on endpapers. 8vo. xviii, 261 pp. Former owner's seal on blank preliminary page and one-word name on ffep, otherwise unmarked; slight edge-wear to boards, two small stains on top edge, not affecting interior, text block clean, tight and square. The unclipped dust jacket, now in mylar, is worn, with small loss, at the head of the spine, else very good. VERY GOOD/VERY GOOD. This is the fifth book in Dr. Velikovsky's series, "Ages in Chaos," and in it he propounds his "contention that more than once within historic times the order of the solar system was disturbed and cataclysms ensued; the earth became a primeval chaos lashed by tornadoes of cinders; the skies darkened; land masses were destroyed; and large portions of the human race perished." Dr. Velikovsky published "Worlds in Collision" in 1950, "Ages in Chaos" in 1952; "Earth in Upheaval" in 1955; "Oedipus and Akhnaton" in 1960; "Peoples of the Sea" in 1977; "Ramses II and his Time" in 1978; "Mankind in Amnesia" in 1982; and "Stargazers and Gravediggers," a memoir of "Worlds in Collision," in 1983. "Worlds in Collision" was "the most widely discussed book of its generation." . 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall .
