This amazingly well-preserved rare vintage classic, appears to be a true 1st EDITION published by John K. Hastings in 1893 and is not a reprint! The Title Page reads: 'With and Introduction By Joseph Cook, and a Supplementary Chapter from The Ven. Frederick W. Farrar, D.D., Archdeacon and Canon of Westminster to whom are added, Selections from the Writings of the Late Great Divine profusely illustrated with portraits and views of scenes of the life and labors.' There are 11 illustrations within this volume; 215 pages of biography plus 75 pages of "Extracts from Sermons and Addresses".
Very Good! NO MARKS! All pages are intact, not marred by any notes, underlining or highlighting (although on the Title Page, the name Dunbar is underlined). No detached pages! On the front page there is a name written and crossed out, a price and a small personal nameplate. NOT ex-Library. Undamaged spine; not chipped! The binding is NOT loose-no creases. Good ivory boards with gilt stamped title on spine and cover, with raised bands on spine and elaborate gilt decoration around title on cover; with bright bold gilt lettering on spine; top corners bumped with minor fraying on top back corner. All edges bright gilt. The pictures depict the actual book you will receive. Generally, ships the same business day! Ships with Tracking Number!
