A collection of aphorisms originally written for and published in the first issue of the magazine Chameleon, the successor of "The Spirit Lamp" at Oxford University. "The first duty in life is to be as artificial as possible. What the second duty is no one has as yet discovered" (Oscar Wilde). These epigrams, so Joseph Pearce, undoubtedly have "an air of subversive decadence that undermined conventional values." Front cover with crease at lower right corner. Block bumped.
