J M Dent and Sons Ltd, 1933. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG++. 1st Edition 12.5 x 19 cm tan cloth with brown stamped titles to the spine. Brown map endpapers, 255[1]pp. A little light wear to the spine and some light marking consistent with age. The corners are firm and sharp. Internally clean, without name, inscription or bookplate noting only a small contemporary booksellers label on the front paste down. A scarce, better than usually found, 1st Edition copy of Lewis's first published work of prose fiction which he described to his publisher as, "a kind of Bunyan up to date".
