Burgundy leather spine and corners with marbled boards internally and externally.

Five raised bands to the spine with title and author and 4 decorations all in gilt, with gilt decoration around each panel including decorative border, leaves and dots. Row of 5 gilt dots to the bottom of the spine.

Gilt spine decorations appear to be hat/whip, stirrup/horn, horseshoe/whip, and fox.

Top edge of page block is gilt.

Some bumps and wear externally, but not loads.
Internally there is the stamp of the "Ward Room Library, HMS Empress of India", and a previous owner's inscription.
