Inscribed by the poet First edition, first printing, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper "to the Wymans w. every good wish this old nothing - John Berryman Ann Arbor March '65". Poems was Berryman's first separately published book, preceded only by his inclusion in the collective publication Five Young American Poets in 1940; 2,000 copies were issued, of which 1,500 were in the present wrappers, and 500 in boards. Octavo. Original green wrappers. Very light toning to spine, very light creasing at head of front cover; a near-fine copy. Stefanik A2.
