A new edition of this two volume set of poetry from the forerunner of the Romantics, William Cowper, in half calf bindings by Sotheran. A two volume set in half calf bindings with marbled edges and end papers, with the binder's stamp of Sotheran to the verso of the front free end papers. A collection of the poems of noted English poet and hymnwriter William Cowper, a new edition of this work published the same year as his death. Cowper was influential in the Romantic movement. His well-known poems 'The Task' and 'The History of John Gilpin' are included in this collection. In a half calf bindings. Externally smart, with light shelf wear to the boards, and rubbing to the spines and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with the occasional spot. Very Good
