London: Longman Rees et al, 1827 First edition thus. HB. Full leather with marbled surface, gilt spine decorations with raised bands, marbled endpapers. 138pp, h:17cms. The prefatory Advertisement is just 'signed' C. Huntingdon, January 29 1827. There then follows a lengthy introduction, and then Milton's prose. This copy was a gift to Charlotte Calthorpe from Sir Henry Dukinfield in 1848- inscription on verso of flyleaf. Covers have lightly rubbed edges with frayed corners and spine ends, some rubbing to other surfaces, and title spine label missing. Binding is sound and pages largely clean & bright; some foxing to ends. A Good+ copy.
