New York and London: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1918., 1918.. Good. - Octavo, 7-3/4 inches high by 5-1/8 inches wide. Gray cloth titled in gilt on the front cover & the spine. The covers are rubbed with some stains to the rear cover. The spine is darkened with a few small stains. xxviii & 350 pages plus a 5-page publisher's catalog of related books. The top edge of the book is soiled and there is some light foxing and minor stains to the fore and bottom edges. There is light foxing to the endpapers and pastedowns. Good. <p>First edition.<p>The English Nobel Peace Prize winner Sir Ralph Norman Angell (1872-1967) was a lecturer, journalist and author. Angell served as a Member of Parliament for the Labour Party. One of the founders of the Union of Democratic Control, Angell served on the Council of the Royal Institute of International Affairs. He served as an executive for the World Committee against War and Fascism and as a member of the executive committee of the League of Nations, and president of the Abyssinia Association. Angell was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1933.
