Portland, ME: Gould and Elwell, Publisher, 1849. Tabloid. Good. Tabloid newspaper. 8 pp. A single issue of this "independent family journal of literature, news, etc." Includes a captivity narrative, presumably all fiction based on history, by Charles P. Ilsley and titled, "An Indian Tale. The Captive Maiden." Set in and around the town of Buxton, Maine. Also present are news briefs, some poetry, ads, etc. GOOD condition. Appears disbound from a larger volume, with the front leaf very tenuously attached to the rest of the paper. Moderate toning, some foxing, spotting and soiling to the paper. Horizontal and vertical fold creases present, with some other creasing.
