A summary of sources of uranium, radium and vanadium, methods used in treating the ores and uses of the finished products. In 1912, concerned that Austria, England and Germany were ahead of the US in research, the Department commissioned a team to study these radioactive elements and to promote research in hospitals and laboratories to find uses for them. Two small chips out of the bottom corners of the front paper cover and near the spine along the top of the back cover also chips at both ends of the spine. Interior Good
